Division of Vocational Rehabilitation - Their mission is to enable individuals with disabilities to obtain and keep employment.

Housing

Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) - Search for home health agencies, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and various other agencies that serve the disabled community.

Florida Housing Search.org - Search for accessible apartments, houses, and assisted living facilities in Florida.

National Organizations

American Spinal Injury Association - Our mission is to promote and establish standards of excellence for all aspects of health care of individuals with spinal cord injury from onset throughout life.

Christopher Reeve Foundation - The Christopher Reeve Foundation is committed to finding treatments and cures for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other neurological disorders, and improving the quality of life for people living with disabilities.

National Spinal Cord Injury Association - Founded in 1948, the National Spinal Cord Injury Association is the nation's oldest and largest civilian organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of Americans living with the results of spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) and their families.

United Spinal Association - Our mission is to provide expertise, create access to resources and strengthen hope there by enabling people with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) to fulfill their potential as active members of their communities.

Online Communities

Apparelyzed- Contains educational materials on many health related topics and has discussion boards about equipment, travelling, and resources for family members.

The Miami Project -The world's largest comprehensive spinal cord injury (SCI) research center and is dedicated to finding more effective treatments and,ultimately, a cure for paralysis.

Transportation

Florida Senior Safety Resource Center - Contains a database of accessible transportation in each county.

RERC on Wheelchair Transportation Safety- The Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Wheelchair Transportation Safety tests different models of wheelchairs to determine their durability in a car accident.

Travel

An Overview of the Air Carrier Access Act - A guide to you rights and government regulations when travelling by air.

Society for Accessible Travel & Hospitality (SATH) - A website providing information on accessible travel and a listing of travel agents with experience in dealing with the disabled population. It also has tips for airline travel, hotel stays, cruises, and visiting other countries.
